Just like you don't launch a boat into the ocean without a clear idea of where you're going and how to get there, connecting men and women with God in the Bible requires some planning beforehand. Our destination is clear: engaging people in a relationship with God through the Bible. But between here and there are mostly uncharted waters.

Why do so many people own Bibles but never read them? Why do so many people recognize the Bible as a moral authority yet so few lives reflect God's standards? These are the "big questions."

To find the answers to these questions, the CBE has surveyed thousands of believers from every stage of life. Though much has yet to be done, the data already suggests some surprising facts and brings to light some long-held misconceptions.
